About The Niagara Current
An honest, local guide to the Falls.
Niagara Falls gets millions of visitors a year, and most of the advice they find online is either an ad in disguise or a wall of recycled lists. We started The Niagara Current to be the thing we wished existed: a clear, current, locally run guide that tells you the truth about what is worth doing.
We pay our own way
We buy our own tickets and meals. Nobody hands us a free pass in exchange for a kind word. If something is overpriced or underwhelming, we say so.
Local, not corporate
We live in the region. The recommendations here come from actually going, not from a press release or a booking widget that pays the most.
Useful over hype
Every guide answers the questions you would ask a friend who lives here. When to go, what to skip, where to park, what it really costs.
Updated, not abandoned
Seasons change, prices change, attractions close for the winter. We keep the practical details current rather than letting them rot.
What we cover
Both sides of the river, the attractions and the gorge, restaurants from fallsview rooms to local kitchens, where to stay, the events calendar, and the practical news that changes a visit. If it matters to someone planning a trip to Niagara, it belongs here.
- Attractions, reviewed in person
- Restaurants for every budget
- Hotels and inns, sorted by trip type
